What to say about Yangon. It has a population of over 6 million. It’s a very dirty and filthy city and the buildings are literally falling apart. But it has a lot of charm and feeling. Many Indians live here, and teashops are scattered all over town. It’s multi-cultural city.
Buses are available all over town but due to that all destinationas and numbers are written in burmese it’s hard to know what bus to take. They are also slow and many times crowded. The traffic isn’t running that smooth either. Taxi’s usually overcharge if they can soo it’s a good idea to bring out your bargaining skills.
Yangon is the town to indulge burmese food as well as other cuisines. It’s fun to hang around here but don’t expect it to be like any other Asian cities. It’s not that developed but you will find supermarkets and some department stores trying to keep up with the more wealthier parts of the population.
Yangon is a fairly green city, with many trees and some parks. It’s definitely worth staying here for a couple of days or at least a week, even though most tourists dosen’t seem to fancy the city so much.
