Sinbo, a small village along the irrawaddy river. Not much to talk about and not much to do. It’s calm here, with some shops and noodle stalls. A small market where most of the action is. The only reason to come here is actually to switch boat.
Me and Malgorzata shared a room when we came here. 5000 kyat, 2500 kyat each. They wanted 6000 first but we propsed on a discount then the room was very simple, without fan, electricity or toilet (You will have electricity only for 2-3 hours each night).
Outhouse loo is available, but if you’re scared of spiders, this one is not recommended. Wait for the night to come, hide somewhere on the yard and do your business. Showers are done by buckets using the rainwater. This activity is also only possible nighttime if you don’t want to use a sarong while washing.
One remarkable thing is that they have many shops (to many shops, selling convenient stuff and some grocery) comparing to how many people that actually live here. Malgorzata and me mused about it, maybe it was so that nearby tribes and people from the hills were occasionally coming down purchasing and selling whatever they had or needed..
