What About Myanmar

Population: Officially 47.4 million.

Capital: Naypyidaw

The country’s culture is based on Theravada Buddhism. But you’ll also find Christians, Muslims and Hindu’s here.

Official language: Burmese

Recognised regional languages: Jingpho, Kayah, Karen, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan.

Internet users: 0.1% of the population. But hopefully and probably the number of users will increase soon.

My opinion: Internet and English language skills is the key to freedom. Knowledge and education. Money can set you free in Myanmar as well.

Cellphone and simcard are extremly expensive, especially if you think of how much the average person earn.

Probably the government and their alliance get most of their money and income from trade of gems, textiles, timber, and a lot from oil and gas. They get a lot from the teak wood. Large areas of forest are devastated soo they can replant the teak wood. One of these areas is between Pathein and Chaung Tha.

There are not any convenient power or electricity in Myanmar. Many households use translators and transmitters, to get the correct power. Though the power is only 50 sometimes, and they have to get it up to at least 250 V.

Myanmar have a lot of power though, so much that indeed they could support whole Myanmar with electricity. This electricity goes to Thailand and China instead. Thailand especially.

There are a lot of trade between Myanmar and China. China seem to be the key for the governments wealthiness. They actually seem to be very good friends, believing in the same kind of ideas and have the same kind of visions.  Both are communists, and both believe in the red stoplight that never really turns green.
